Rotating DIN-rail mount
Often field engineers have to unmount and remove all external cabling to simply move or view the appliance from another angle. By having a rotatable DIN-Rail mount, now engineers only need to rotate the appliance to check status or even install upgrades. The mount rotates along the Z-axis giving engineers full access to 5 sides of any appliance. Attaching I/O is even simpler without the need to detach the appliance, connect the I/O and reattach the appliance to the DIN rail.
IEC-61850-3
This platform passes all the tests for IEC-61850-3 compliance- the hardware section of the IEC-61850 compliance. These tests include electro-magnetic interference, temperature range and shock/vibration tests.
Hardware auto flow control
Designed for use with RS-485 signals, hardware autoflow control allows signals to travel back and forth along the same one-way channel.
Wide voltage input range
Today, IPCs are ubiquitous in almost every environment and need to be prepared to go anywhere no matter the industry or function. Different industries have a different standards for electricity and different power sources. An appliance with a wider power input range is easily integrated across the spectrum of these industries, and lessens the chance that there will be a need for a separate power supply.
Intel Atom N455
Single core Intel Atom N455 features 1.66GHz clock speed and a 512KB cache. It utilizes 6.5W of power. The Intel Atom 400 and 500 series offers video support, 6 lanes of PCI (x)1 lanes, 4 PCI, Intel High Definition Audio, 10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Ports, 3 SATA connections, and the ability to connect directly to DDR2 / DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM.
Externally accessible CF slot
Lanner designer are aware of the hours involved for a field technician to update a massive communications system, so Lanner has designed certain appliances with an externally accessible CompactFlash slot. The slot is designed to help technicians quickly replace, install or re-install an appliance's CF card without ever opening up the chassis. With one easy hit of a button, the current CF card pops out and the new one can just slide in.
Reverse polarity protection
Reverse polarity protection is just another feature to protect Lanner hardware from uncareful usage. Often in industrial settings it is very easy to mix the inputs of a electrical source. This protection protects this system from electrical shorting.
